Photo uploads are currently limited to 5 per hour and 20 per day per creator. Failed uploads can count toward these limits. There’s no paid upgrade during beta.

Proposed: one scan per successfully read photo. A split with three photos uses three scans. No credits used for failed reads or internal retries.

Will my friends have to pay to see their amount?

No. We plan to keep joining, choosing items, seeing amounts, and opening Venmo free. Paid offers would be for the person scanning receipts.

What would stay free after beta?

Our proposed free option includes manual receipts, supported Toast links, guest participation, and 3 introductory photo scans per creator. This is a proposal; the beta does not have a three-scan paywall.

Will the beta turn into a subscription?

No. There’s no payment card on file and no automatic conversion. If we introduce paid features, we’ll explain the price and limits before you choose to buy.

Do you take a percentage of the dinner bill?

No. Halvsies calculates the split. You confirm any payment in Venmo; Halvsies doesn’t transfer money or confirm that a friend has paid.

How can I help test it?

Use Halvsies at your next group dinner. Try it again at a later meal and tell us what helped or got in the way. Use Report a problem on any screen for bugs or confusing steps.
